Okay, I redlined a few things I noticed, though I think it’s already quite good a drawing. I put numbers (which are a bit all over the place, augh) on the redlines so I can explain them better, because they’re quite messy. I can sketch clean to save my life, I’m afraid ^^”
1. That’s more of a personal thing, but I think his head could be tilted up a bit more. As it is now, it looked quite uncomfortable a position. Also, unless he has absolutely NO muscle in the shoulders, they should not curve inward so much, especially considering the fabric layer on top of the skin.
2. Reference. Again, more of a personal preference, but the hoodie looked very stiff, so I rummaged around for a softer one, which usually looks more natural when drawn. Keep in mind his body is turned toward us a little bit (hence why a little bit of his other shoulder should be visible, too) so the hoodie is actually turned away from us.
3. I can’t draw hands. Really can not, so don’t take the sketch as a correct line, or something. What I’m trying to illustrate with that red blob is that, since his arm is on his side and the book on his chest, he needs to turn his wrist inward quite a bit and raise it to hold the book at that angle. Just grab the nearest solid item and try it yourself, checking where your elbow is, where said item is and how your wrist and hand are angled.
4. The way that man is standing (body tilted to our right) he would fall over if his legs were together, so I just pushed one leg out to support his weight better. Alternatively, you can just rotate him back up x) Whatever suits you better.
5. To me, it looked like his jaw and chin were pushed forward unnaturally. I would lower the mouth a little and thin out the chin, unless he is supposed to have a very long face and protuberant chin.
6. I’m sorry, no reference for that since I used my own sleeve (snuggly oversized pull-overs rock) but yeah, usually the sleeves have the most wrinkles and folds, especially around the elbows and wrists if you push them into pockets. There again, the easiest way to check is grab you biggest hoodie/pull-over (or, you know, boyfriends/brothers/whatever) and stand in front of the mirror.
I hope that helps a bit,

Help, please :D
(I am so sorry I forgot to cite my references in my previous submission. I was just so excited to find this group. May I please ask you post this one instead?)

This is a wip I am working on. I would really love some crit and redlines to show my what I need to fix :)
As for reference, the basic poses were done using my fiance as a model…but I did use a few images for aid on the clothing.

To post from 28th of september

You might notice I stretched your picture à bit around the hips. Like for the others, do a sketch of everything before covering parts of the body, so you don’t munch on body parts.
Nothing much to say, the redline still lacks a bit of butt and hips, but I hope it still speaks more or less for itself.
-bustocallisto, forgot to sign the last redline.

Okay, you need to use references and do some basic studies of human anatomy. In no way do I claim that my knowledge of it is perfect, but in this case you had some pretty blatant mistakes in. Especially, even the muscled type wouldn’t have a back that broad. Actually, the human body broadens more on the shoulders than on the back, and he’d have to be a really, really heavy bodybuilder to get to half of that mass.
Second, and that’s a lot less critical but I’m pointing it out anyway, while kissing, people actually have to tilt their heads. Nose get’s in the way otherwise. Excuse my stupid little chibi faces illustrating this xD
Try drawing the basic structure of the skull and flesh out afterwards, it’s easier that way.
I hope my messy redline is more or less understandable ^^”

Heyyyyy
So I was working on a commission, and although it’s loosely shaded, I’d really like to fix the anatomy~~ Here you go!

Please forgive me transforming the shit out of your picture as I like to work bigger and I figured something larger to look at might be more useful/easier to see c:
Also forgive my boney hands that I used as a reference for this haha. I think that maybe changing the angle of the arms may help with the hand positioning. I’d seriously recommend using your own hands with a mirror holding a notebook or something for this pose like I did. I hope this helps!

Hey RLTP! I’ve got this picture sat in my WIP’s that hasn’t been completed for more than six months, so I’d like to ask for your assistance in correcting some really terrible anatomy! Basically I’m just stuck on the arms/hands. He’s meant to be holding a placard— he’s a criminal. The hand placement is definitely wrong, but I haven’t ever been able to draw the hands correctly. Something looks wrong every single time. So if you’d be so kind, here’s a link to the image in question! Cheers! http://i56.tinypic.com/2ennn1i.png

mothified asked: Hep! I just thought about something when I went to post a redline: Wouldn't it be useful to ask people to sign their posts? Just a little name underneath or whatever so we can say who we're answering to/see what's for ourself easily. I just find it really irritating to not be able to direct my answer... ^^"
This is actually a really good idea and I’m all for it. :) If it’s not too much trouble for you guys, would you mind signing with your tumblr names? You could even link back to yourself if you want to, and of course you could sign as anonymous if that’s more comfortable. This would be really nice to do, though!

Redline to “oh gawd.. eue;”
Ugh, why can’t I do an image submission xD
Anyway, here the redline for that square headed species thing. The most obvious mistake was that you seemed to have added some random joints in the front legs. When drawing quads, keep in mind they have the same amount of joints we do, only not in the same place, because they walk on all four. The height of the knee and ankle can vary between species, for example cats and dogs, but the idea is the same. Also, try not to curve bones too much, something we tend to do with the tights, between hip, knee and ankle.
I hope that helps!
